In 1904, a farmer in Beaumont, Texas was going broke. He suffered from drought, poor crop yields, and diseased animals.

In desperation and to avoid bankruptcy, the farmer reluctantly struck a deal with a large oil company, which believed there was oil under his land. The firm would set up rigs and drill for oil at their expense, and if there was oil, he would receive a percentage of the profits. Within a few months, oil was discovered, bringing much happiness to the farmer. During all those years when his family was starving and struggling to farm the land, large quantities of oil lay under them. The farmer became instantly wealthy. But did he really? The oil had always been there, he was always rich. He just didn’t know it.
Are you like the farmer? Gifted with special abilities and talents, have you not yet tapped into the rich reservoir of potential that lies within? Think about how this story applies to you!
